Increasing Circulation
Many difficult wounds become serious because of poor circulation. We can enhance circulation with several different types of treatment:
- Hyperbaric Chamber — Our full-body hyperbaric chamber treats your wound—and your entire body—with 100% oxygen at a higher pressure than the regular atmosphere. Hyperoxygenation forces more oxygen into tissues that might otherwise deteriorate. (This treatment is now covered by many insurance carriers, including Medicare, for certain conditions.)
- Near-Infrared Light Treatments — By treating the wound area with this particular band of light, we can increase circulation on an area and actually reduce diabetic neuropathy.
- Vasodilators —These substances dilate the blood vessels. They include such as the drugs Pletal and Trental taken orally, and nitroglycerin paste applied topically.
- Nutrition—We will work with you to develop plans for your diet and vitamin regimen so that you get well and stay well.
